The University of Salford, Manchester is a public research university in Salford, Greater Manchester, England, 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) west of Manchester city center. It has 19,995 students and is on 160 acres (65 hectares) of parkland on the banks of the River Irwell.

In October 2010 the university opened a learning, teaching, and research space at MediaCityUK. Over 1,500 students will have opportunities to work near media professionals using the latest industry-specified equipment, studios, and laboratories. The university is organized into seven schools: School of Arts and Media, Salford Business School, School of Health Sciences, School of Health and Society, School of Computing, Science and Engineering, School of Environment and Life Sciences, and School of the Built Environment.

The Complete University Guide ranked the University of Salford 73rd institution in 2023/24. The University currently has 35 sports clubs ranging from Football to Ultimate Frisbee.

Other Details The Salford International Excellence Award is judged by our international scholarship committee. Ten successful applicants will be awarded £5,000. You must have applied for an undergraduate course for September 2025 intake in order to apply for this scholarship. This scholarship is not available for postgraduate students.
GLOBAL GOLD EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP

Eligibility and Requirements 1) To be eligible for this scholarship you must be applying for the first year of full-time study on an eligible undergraduate 2) Self-funded students who successfully complete the International Foundation Year at Salford with a grade of 70 or higher, are eligible for this scholarship if they progress to one of our eligible undergraduate programmes starting from 2024-25 3) If you are an undergraduate applicant, you must hold an offer for an eligible programme and achieve A-level grades ABB or equivalent from your country.

Eligibility and Requirements 1) To be eligible for this scholarship you must be applying for the first year of full-time study on an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate master’s programme. 2) Self-funded students who successfully complete the International Foundation Year at Salford with a grade between 65 - 69 are eligible for this scholarship if they progress to one of our eligible undergraduate programmes starting in 2024-2025. 3) If you are an undergraduate applicant, you must hold an offer for an eligible programme and achieve A-level grades BBC or equivalent from your country.
